At Vision Data Technologies, Inc. we completely understand any concerns that you or your team has regarding the delay in releasing the Replacement for MS 2010, but the application is not going to be unusable.

 

Our goal was to release it this Summer and with the Corona Virus Pandemic and everything that went along with our BETA Sites and our own need to work on immediate projects, it has been delayed.

 

Please know that your VDT Development Team is working fast and furiously with the BETA Sites to get this released as quickly as possible.

 

The following Statement is straight from Microsoft Website and our Developer contact has stated the same basically.  He assured us that with our servers being HIPAA secured, we should not have any issues as long as those servers are in fact up to date with all the current software updates and other security anti-virus software and users are not getting onto the internet and downloading potential threatening malicious software.  


In the rare event that support is needed Microsoft will support us with a per call fee, which we are obviously going to pay, should we require their assistance.  Some sites are still running MS 2007 Office and MS 2008 Windows and have not encountered any issues with the application.

 

We have a copy of MS Office 2010 if your site needs to re-install; however, we may or may not have a license that will work in your environment.  Keep it safe and secure in the event you need it for a re-installation.

Support for Office 2010 will end on October 13, 2020 and there will be no extension and no extended security updates. All of your Office 2010 apps will continue to function. However, you could expose yourself to serious and potentially harmful security risks.



What end of support means for you after October 13, 2020

  • Microsoft will no longer provide technical support, bug fixes, or security fixes for Office 2010 vulnerabilities which may be subsequently reported or discovered. This includes security updates which can help protect your PC from harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
  • You'll no longer receive Office 2010 software updates from Microsoft Update.
  • You'll no longer receive phone or chat technical support.
  • No further updates to support content will be provided and most online help content will be retired.
  • You'll no longer be able to download Office 2010 from the Microsoft web site.
